PAKISTAN AND KASHMIR

The freedom struggle of Kashmir in the occupied Kashmir was in the beginning a pro-Pakistan movement,. because the ideology of Allama lqbal and Quaid-e-Azam had laid a profound impact on the minds of Kashmiri Muslims and youth organizations were committed to the ideology of Islam. They idolised Pakistan for decades together in their dreams. Whenever there was any protest against the government in Srinagar, it automatically changed into a Pro-Pakistan demonstration. The inhabitants of valley seemed always vocal and enthusiastic to display their love for Pakistan and hate for India. Any untoward incident or happy news from Pakistan shook people/caused ripples of enthusiasm and people would naturally come out of their homes to express their sentiments of love and solidarity. with Pakistan. Victories in test matches, fall of Dacca, Ojri Camp tragedy, hanging of Bhutto and Bahawalpur air crash can be cited as examples in this regard.

Unfortunately many Pakistani rulers/politicians did not value the unbounded love of Kashmiris for Pakistan, nor they shaped the country's foreign and home policy according to the urges and aspirations of the people, with the result Azad Kashmir the base camp for the liberation of the rest of J & K sank into slumber, confusion, corruption and, power tussle, instead of liberation struggle, became order of the day. According to the law of nature when a nation is engaged in her own internal strifes, basic national issues of life and death are forgotten and the enemy gains strength day by day. The fall of great Mughal Empire and decline of glorious Arab rule in Spain is the explicit testimony of the law of God. Nations united they stand and divided they fall, beautiful ideas and lofty slogans loose their appeal, when. their harbingers and preachers fall down, morally. Words and deeds must sound like harmonium. All human deeds must be for the good of people and promote humanity and human welfare.

Faith in Islam in the true sense of the word and patriotism was the hall mark of our movement in its heydays, but it was replaced by lust for power and money. This is the root cause that India stabilised her brutal occupation of Kashmir during the last 45 years and reached 90's despite continuous resistance by the youth of Kashmir, other wise it was not the huge size of India, her land, sea and air, but chaos/corruption in the body polity of Pakistan/Azad Kashmir/occupied Kashmir which always gave India opportunities to change a freedom fighting scenario into a freedom crushing situation. People of Kashmir always treated Pak/AJK Governments, as freedom fighting governments, because some parts of the state are still under foreign domination of India. Freedom fighting Governments should work not only as crusaders of honesty and justice but also encourage by all practical means true forces of liberation in the whole cycle of our movement.

Pakistan & Kashmir, the people of Kashmir and Pakistan have many vital things in common. But, human sentiments of love and fraternity are too vital to be ignored. It is these innate qualities of human heart that transgress all geographical barriers/distances. Therefore, the policy planners in Pakistan should be vigilant, always, protect and grow the conditions of congeniality and harmony with the people of Kashmir. Centrifugal forces of discord and hate grow more rapidly between human beings, when better conditions of harmony, respect and co-operation are ignored and people are thought as inferior as insects/animals.

The people of Kashmir as a nation have learnt many new lessons during the past 6 years. They have suffered both mentally/physically and economically. The people of Kashmir still bear the brunt of continuous genocide and humiliation by occupation troops, but inter group clashes, are too serious problems to be brushed aside by just one word "enemy conspiracies:" However, the enemy factor is not to be miscalculated or under estimated. A 't the. same time, attempts by pro India elements/discredited politicians who try to thrust their leadership on the people and hijack the movement in the garb of our sympathisers is viewed by freedom lovers in the occupied region as of grave nature which should not be overlooked by the policy planners in Pakistan.

People of Kashmir have marked with dismay that during the last 6 years, Chauvinists, and Indian stooges have endangered the future of the liberation movement by infiltrating into groups of mujahideen. But Pakistan, should share this fear with the people of Kashmir by strengthening the genuine forces of liberation struggle.

Pakistan should not go in search of psychophants in Kashmir. This will give rise to corrupt men in the movement.

The germs of counter revolution breed in this environment And fifth columnists get opportunities ' to operate against revolutionaries. Some news reports from Kashmir substantiate our fears and, Indian government is organizing counter freedom groups to sabotage the whole movement and divert world attention from human rights abuses by her troops in Kashmir. The decision by Indian government to hold polls despite people's resentment and their massacre is the part of this game plan to make the region more unstable and its problems further knotty for any dialogue or discussion.
